Buy a half or whole carcass

If you’ve got the freezer space, buying a half or whole carcass is the best value way to eat our beef. You get every cut, from steaks and roasting joints to mince and slow cooking cuts, all from one animal raised here at Longbrook Farm.

How it works

We book an animal in especially for you. From our native breed, grass fed herd, it’s hung for 28 days as standard (or less, or more, just ask). Please allow about 6 weeks from booking to delivery, including hanging time.

Prices

Ready to cook: £22.50/kg packed weight. Cut to your preferences, vac packed and labelled, ready for the freezer. A half usually comes to around 80 to 85kg of packed beef.

Primal cuts: £10.75/kg kill sheet weight. For those who’d like to do the butchery themselves or use their own butcher. A half is typically around 170kg kill sheet weight.

Prices are based on our standard 28 day hang. Every animal is different, so weights vary, and we’ll give you a quote before you commit.

Extras

  • Splitting into separate shares for friends or family: £20 in total

  • Offal: £10/kg

Collection and delivery

Collect from Longbrook Farm, Thurning, by arrangement. Local delivery is free within 10 miles and £15 for 10 to 25 miles. Sorry, we can’t send carcasses nationwide.

Booking

Once we’ve agreed the details, a 30% deposit secures your animal. The balance is due once it’s been cut and weighed.
